Abroad

Germany

In 2018 I embarked on my first Erasmus experience. The destination was the German city of Ravensburg, in the Baden-Württemberg region. This was my first long-term adventure abroad, and thanks to which I have been able to grow both academically and personally. Leaving Spain allowed me to meet people from many different countries and cultures and to learn a lot from them.

This trip was a turning point in my knowledge of different languages. Not only did it improve my level of English and my self-confidence to speak it, but it was also my first contact with German, a language that I continued to study upon my return to Spain.

I studied at the RWU (Hochschule Ravensburg-Weingarten) University of Applied Sciences where I received exceptional treatment from the first day and saw first hand the quality of their professors. It was here that I acquired a great interest in photovoltaic technology thanks to one of the courses I took.

On a personal level, this experience was decisive in opening my mind to a much bigger world than I thought at that time, and where I began to consider working abroad in the future.

Italy

In the master's program I had the opportunity to participate in a new Erasmus. I must admit that the plan was to return to Germany to continue my German studies, but the moment I discovered that Rome was one of the options I changed my mind, even though all the subjects would be in Italian, a language I did not know at all. I started my Italian studies before going and continued with them there. While it is true that learning a language is much faster if you live in a country where you speak it, I was also counting on the fact that Spanish and Italian are similar. At the end, the language was not a problem to pass the different courses.

Thus, in September 2020 (and with the whole world health crisis in full swing) I started this new stage of my life in Italy, full of new challenges and unforgettable experiences.

On a personal level (and just as in my first Erasmus), this Erasmus led me to open my mind even more and meet people from all corners of Europe and beyond.
